Japan UK Live

About this site

Japan UK LIVE! is an educational website designed to encourage exchange between young people in Japan and the UK. It is totally bilingual - by removing the language barrier, participants are able to concentrate on what they want to say, rather than what they know how to say.

As well as text messages, participants can send photographs, pictures and sound files, which help to bring the exchange to life. There is no charge for taking part in this project. For further information please contact: education@japan21.org.uk

On 28 February 2007, a consortium of elementary and junior high schools using Japan UK LIVE! was awarded the Minister for Internal Affairs & Communications prize in the MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science & Technology) Internet & Education Concours. The judges were impressed by the ways in which the schools used their links with British partners to enhance students' learning. For more information, please see the official website. (Japanese only)
